The GOOD List #10

Here it is, the tenth good list, and we’re kicking it off with a guest pick from architecture photographer and owner of Ed’s Shed, Ed Reeve! This monumental landmark sees us heading south of the river (would you believe it) to share some of our favourite venues and happenings in this gorgeous, sun-soaked city, as well as looking into the future of food and efficiency.

Ed Reeve’s GOOD news:

Ed is loving that a green start-up technology company has surprised scientists by producing a biofuel from old rubber tyres that can run turbo-charged diesel engines while reducing emissions by 30%. | Read more here.

A GDT facility located just five kilometres north of Warren in western New South Wales.

Sabine’s GOOD news:

Sabine’s favourite new discovery is the Thought Starters podcast series produced by brilliant design writer, industry commentator and Zetteler pal David Michon. Excited to hear what David was working on, she fell in love with it immediately. Listening in on an informed, engaging conversation between two articulate people in the creative industries is pretty dreamy, as it happens. Thanks DM, keep them coming! | Listen to Thought Starters in full here.

Katie’s GOOD news:

There’s an increasingly audible global murmur surrounding the future of food and sustainable sourcing. This week Katie was particularly taken by an article on Disegno focusing on Mold, the first print magazine about the future of food. | Check out the details on Kickstarter.

Milly’s GOOD news:

Being a South East London dweller, Milly is thrilled to see Old Spike (the Peckham-based social enterprise whose core mission is to provide expert training, jobs and housing support for people experiencing homelessness through Old Spike Roastery and Change Please) expanding and opening a new all day café, bar and restaurant in Camberwell. | Follow Spike + Earl on Twitter and Instagram to see what they’re up to in the local community.

Amy’s GOOD news:

Later this month Amy is volunteering at a gig taking place at DIY Space for London, a cooperatively-run social centre also located in South East London, just off the Old Kent Road. The space is run on a membership basis to ensure equal input and say in how it’s used and managed. It works to promote the ideas of mutual aid and cooperation and providing a welcoming space for everyone, including those whose voices and contributions are not always heard or appreciated. | Find out how to get involved here

Jodi’s GOOD news:

Last week Jodi and Katie visited the School of Life (if you don’t know, get to know here) for a fantastically insightful four hour workshop on efficiency with a diverse group of humans from a broad range of industries. | Check out upcoming workshops here.
