A hidden gem of heritage and creativity, the north London borough of Barnet will host the Light + Flight Festival in November 2026, a vibrant programme that is the culmination of a year of creativity, connection, and belonging in Barnet. Highlights will include a major new artwork alongside a series of community-led public events, a free, multi-day festival celebrating art, music, storytelling, and collective fun.
Bringing together artists, communities and local stories, Light + Flight is a Cultural Impact Award initiative rooted in its unique history and diverse communities, part of the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture programme, and further supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England. Shaped by the input of more than 2,000 residents, it celebrates hidden stories and the next generation of talent, shining a light on what makes Barnet distinctive while looking ahead to what's possible.

WHAT WE DO FOR Barnet Council – Light + Flight
Having delivered numerous placemaking projects in London, the Zetteler team was immediately excited by Barnet’s ambitious cultural programme. From the green landscapes that characterise the borough, and with a history that stretches from early Roman coins to being the UK’s aviation hub during the World Wars, we are working together to raise awareness of Barnet and truly put it on the map as a cultural destination.
