Speak to any ceramicist and they’ll proudly point back to the prehistoric lineage of their craft. And while it’s an undeniable fact that human beings have long worked with clay to create decorative and functional objects, the future of the practice is increasingly intertwined with an appreciation for community, craft and care.
Since 2015, Granby Workshop in Liverpool has created visually stunning and materially curious architectural ceramics for projects and interiors worldwide. Committed to exploring the possibilities of ceramics, the workshop is focused on innovative uses of waste materials to reduce the intense resource and energy usage of typical ceramic production.
Bursting onto the scene through Assemble’s Turner Prize win, the pre-orders from the exhibition for Granby Workshop helped kickstart the business and go into full scale production. Operating as a Community Interest Company since 2019, the resourceful and inventive team behind Granby Workshop have worked tirelessly to push the limits of traditional manufacturing with a designer-lead approach.
WHAT WE DO FOR Granby Workshop
Zetteler has had the joy of working indirectly with Granby Workshop through a series of projects since early 2016. Now, we’re proud to represent them directly, promoting the visionary Liverpudlian studio to our media network. New projects are in the oven – stay tuned.
