When it was founded in 2015, the London School of Architecture became the first independent architecture school to open in the UK in 150 years. Set up to explore and develop alternative forms of pedagogy, the school provides an innovative, practical, and wide-ranging architecture curriculum with an ‘earn while you learn’ model, catering to aspiring young people, career-changers and established professionals alike. The school has trained 350 students to date, and is supported by a UK-wide network of forward-thinking architecture firms.
Under the leadership of Dr Neal Shasore, the LSA recognises that those who shape the city are not fully representative of the diversity of people who live in it. The school’s radical mission is to diversify the talent pool of spatial practitioners by breaking down barriers to industry access, supporting ideas, people and practices to respond to the twin crises of equity and climate, determining the future of the city in the process.
In 2024, the LSA launches Good Growth in Practice, a groundbreaking initiative backed by the Greater London Authority and the Crown Estate to empower underrepresented business owners in architecture and construction while driving industry-wide reforms. The programme combines targeted business support with systematic changes to procurement and practice, creating lasting impact across London's architectural landscape.
WHAT WE DO FOR London School of Architecture
Zetteler is thrilled to be working with the LSA team and programme lead Dian Small on the launch of the Good Growth in Practice. We’re helping the school build their audience and platform, and supporting their mission to break down systemic inequities and ensure fair representation and opportunity across the architecture sector.
