Tipping Point East is Europe's largest building circularity hub. A 20,000sqm industrial site launched in 2026 in the Royal Docks, East London, it facilitates the widescale reuse of building materials – making circular design principles the new status quo of the construction industry.
Operating at a city-wide scale and with transformative impact, Tipping Point East is perfectly positioned to tackle the extraordinary levels of waste from construction head on. In practical terms, this could involve deconstructing a towering office block, cataloging many of its parts and repurposing them across dozens of new buildings throughout London and the UK.
Led by Yes Make, Material Cultures and Resolve Collective, with the backing of Newham Council and the Greater London Authority, the trio of organisations bring a well-rounded skillset to make the project a success. Whether it’s working directly with industry, expanding green skills or directly involving the community, the collaboration works towards a just transition in the built environment.
WHAT WE DO FOR Tipping Point East
The reuse and recycling of materials has long been part of architecture, whether in the preservation of historic façades or through the repurposing of materials at a modest scale. But what Tipping Point East makes possible is fundamentally different – not a nod to context, but fundamental change. Zetteler leads its communication efforts, spreading this vital message far and wide.
