Driven by a systems-wide vision of circular design and with serious hands-on making skills, Yes Make delivers community-led design and build projects across London with a pioneering commitment to the reuse and recycling of building materials.
Moving at break neck speed, Yes Make has grown in just four years from founder Joel de Mowbray riding the Tube with a toolbox to the launch of Europe's largest building circularity hub: Tipping Point East.
This 20,000sqm industrial site in the Royal Docks, East London, is nothing short of revolutionary – creating the infrastructure required to facilitate mass-scale circular reuse of materials across the UK construction industry. Moving beyond preserving historic façades or ad-hoc recycling, this could involve deconstructing a large-scale office block, cataloging many of its parts and repurposing them across dozens of new buildings throughout London and the UK.
Adding to their material expertise, the Yes Make team delivers ambitious projects rooted in community: projects such as The Ark in Hither Green and the Birdhouses at the Carpenter's Estate, Newham, are buzzing spaces constructed with reclaimed materials and co-designed by the people who use them.
Circular construction is taking major steps forward in the coming months as Yes Make is due to launch dozens of projects, redefining the conversation about how our cities are built, maintained and lived in.
WHAT WE DO FOR Yes Make
Stories pour out of Yes Make, with every project and every surface telling us something new about how materials can be used and re-used, rather than being thrown away. We're delighted to be Yes Make’s communications partner, bringing these stories to the media and industry allies in order to shape new norms for construction across London and beyond.
